History

The ancestors of this lineage were descents of Maharaja Vikramaditya Singh of Rewah. Maharaja Vikramaditya Singh granted this estate in heritage to Thakur Ranmat Singh and decided to make it his southern capital. Umaria town was established by his son. Thakur Ranmat Singh then went to Baderi with his army, but Baderi was under the rule of Lodhis (Malgujars) which was later conquered along with the fortress of Baderi and it became the southern capital of Rewah State.

Thakur Mahesh Pratap Singh Baghel, also known as Thakur Baba in his honor; was the best ruler of Baderi. He was a very religious person, he built a magnificent temple of Lord Narshimha in Baderi along with many other buildings in nearby town. He was married with Smt. Saraswati Devi.

- Thakur Bhanwar Lal Singh Baghel
Thakur Dal Pratap Singh Baghel [Lal Ji Sahab], also known as Lal Ji Sahib in his honor. He was born in 1929 and his first marriage took place in 1950 with Smt. Dev Kumari Singh and second marriage took place in 1982 with Smt. Geeta Singh. He contributed in making staircase of a temple Nand Mahal in Baderi. He died on 13^th January 2014.
